I used the 2020 HSC question for my base essay lol (How effectively does your prescribed text tell stories to reveal both the personal and shared nature of human experiences?) - but generally common mod questions are going to be somewhat broad every year as it is shared with the standard cohort

both advanced and standard are marked to a similar degree, the only main difference would be the texts you're studying and how advanced focuses much more on conceptual and critical ideas while standard is designed to help students communicate effectively. Ultimately the decision is up to you and what you're best at when it comes to english

i got 80% glad that it isn't gonna count tho.... my teacher said i'm ranked 5th or 6th, and in prelims i was ranking 3rd soooo would rather not make it count and just grind in the summer holidays tbh. unless my teacher should submit the marks to nesa?? idk how this works, all i care about is my rank

idrk how it works, but since i submit a misadventure form and a doctors certificate after i sat the test (cause i was sick when doing it). it'll just be n/a on my report apparently

Does anyone know how misadventure in a school assessment works (internal)? I have had something come up and apparently I don't need to worry about my final assessment. How would they calculate my mark/rank?

I remember asking one of my teachers abt this: though she was talking in regards to the hsc exams. in the most simple sense, if a student misses a task, their marks kinda just get averaged out with the other tasks that they did do, and after that, your rank is adjusted accordingly.

so if you make sure you do well consistently then it should be fine
