Hi guys also wanted to let you know,

We are offering free trial classes for our Year 8 to 11 Selective Entry classes and general classes feel free to put in an inquiry through our website or PM if you are interested. I will be teaching the classes.

We also have a bunch of free blogs and resources on our website available and will be releasing extracurricular activities guides and interview practice questions. In terms of extracurriculars, usually for most schools it isn't as important as the exam(except in the case of Sydney Boys since they shortlist beforehand). For entry into most schools the first barrier is the exam score/rank, then the schools would look into application/portfolio and your interview skills, but generally the exam score is most important. I would say in your preparation it should be around 70 - 80% exam and maybe 20-30% application/portfolio/interview. Let me know if you have any questions.

I go to ruse but I was there for the edutest last year because they use some ruse school students as like mark scalers, like to see the performance of the cohort for the edutest in ruse

Do you know how much the mark scalers in ruse usually get? Like all superiors or some above average? Just so I have an idea of where to aim...

um my friends and I got 4-5 superiors, but the least they’d dip down to accept is 3 superiors and the rest high averages

there was like 80-100 this year, we had to go to two different exam venues based on last name so i got separated from my friends

For year 9, it’s like a lot of people maybe like 150+? Because year 9 is where they practically accept a whole class. I don’t quite remember, the amount of people trying out dwindles significantly for year 11 entry because at that point it’s so late in high school that you’d join. Also for year 9 entry there were only like 1-3 mark scalers whereas in year 11 entry there was 8-10 scalers.

Um I don’t know about that I’ve only heard about that for hast, they don’t gaf, they’re just trying to loot the best performers so if you put it as second pref and don’t get into first but you got good reports, good extracurricular, and 4-5 superiors with at least one high average then ruse will def be sending that email to you

ah i see, i remember my ruse friend mentioned that he applied to take edutest at school so that makes sense now
plus there were a few ruse ppl doing the test in my hall lol
