Calling all 25ers, 26ers or hsc graduates. Feel free to share any advice or things u wish u knew of before picking subjects

I’ll go first. I wish I didn’t pick SAC cause they glazed it so hard and I thought it would be interesting but it is so boring. But also it depends on ur teacher too so maybe if I had a better teacher it would be better. (It’s actually kinda sad cause I remember being so excited for the pip but now I’m not cause I hate everything related to SAC)

But the lesson learnt: Don’t choose subjects based on how they glaze it in subject selection talks and actually do ur research before picking it

dont choose a vet course like hospitality or buisness services.
theres barely any resources, no one takes the subject seriously, there is no work, no proper syllabus, barely any past papers and it scales horribly.

also look at ur past papers like from y10 and reflect on the subjects and the marks u got
like if u got Cs throughout the year for science, obviously dont pick a science. same goes with history or like advanced eng/maths

stressing over scaling is useless because it all comes down to the fact that if u enjoy it = more likely to put in effort and u will want to study = easier to get a high rank too

ps did i mention DONT PICK A VET COURSE !!!!!!

- 3u english: DON'T B AFRAID. i actually learnt a lot from this course and enjoyed it... just make sure u acc like english or are dedicated to working on ur english skills if ur thinking of picking 3u

- 3u/4u maths: GO FOR IT. if u rly hate it then u can drop once ur in yr11, but i was so afraid to do 3u maths n now it's one of my fav subjects... just remember it'll be a large chunk of ur studying and u actually have to do all the maths exercises and practice qs to build ur skills...

- phys: IT'S RLY HARD... mayb don't pick it if ur crap at physics concepts like me (like wtf is an electron?) but also i like the subject and sometimes hard things can be rly fun. i'm saying this before my trials as i'm definitely getting ~40% during my trials...
