Hey guys,

I've heard that they are giving offers to medical applicants with high Verbal Reasoning scores in the UCAT. Would anyone have a tentative range or ballpark score needed for such an offer?

there isn't particularly a range. Rather I believe you are hearing about the criteria for WSU medicine, which weighs VR more highly using a weighted formula which they refuse to disclose online. Assuming how competitive metro undergrad is becoming, I'd assume 740+ would be where you should be aiming at the least. Otherwise, other schools from the best of my knowledge only consider the final score.

This is specific for WSU. Here's the expected requirements for 2026.
WSU Med: 760 formula calculation for GWS, 797 formula calculation for NSW, 865 Interstate

I think the formula is 2VR + DM + QR /4 but don't quote me on this. So realistically you should be aiming for 800 VR which is pretty crazy.

To anyone aiming for WSU medicine, my UNSW med peers and I are running UCAT tutoring for 2026. We have 3 tutors that scored an 880, 880, and 870 respectively. If anyone would be interested feel free to message.
