I'm bored. State your answer and prove it.

If you ask me, i think it depends on the class. in english, we do a lot of class discussions on our opinions, authors intentions, themes, theories ect. I think these discussions are a very important part of english, and thus it should have mandatory attendance. However, math you can teach yourself. theres no debatable answer of 2+2=4. There is no important group aspect of math, so you shouldnt have to go.

Well for some people, they need a teacher in order for them to understand math but yeah I wish for subjects like SOR I could skip cause it’s quite pointless. The should make it like uni in senior years where u have optional classes or smth

i literally thought abt this SO many times during year12. i agree with study to success in that it should be optional for some classes. there was 1 class which was extremely pointless for everyone because the teacher didn’t teach at all. literally hated every day i had that class omg. i prefer self studying that subject anyway

maths class is reallyyy helpful to me, even topics ive studied before i always end up learning something new like more ways to apply what i've learnt- there's just a lot of stuff you can't pick up when you're self-studying yk?
id say the same applies for chem. i think attendance should be at the very least encouraged for math and the sciences. like, the content tends to build on itself so missing one class can really hurt your performance in the long run

i will admit though there have been too many times in class where there's no need for me to be in there
id like if we were able to leave class whenever we want granted we have the teachers permission so i don't need to waste time trying to look busy when ive already finished the work

and ik some people have schedules that are just terrible and i think we should be allowed to skip some days given we have 'useless' classes on them.
in my case, i have a day in my schedule where i have religion and maths advanced only, both of which don't contribute to my final atar at all... i think attendance shouldn't be mandatory on those kinds of days 😅
