if a kid was accepted in to their first choice of school in year 7 and have since learnt it's not all what it seemed to be and wishes to change schools is there another exam to do or how does the application process work? If they want to change to another selective school that is

What are the best selective girls schools around why why too

After year 7, it depends on the selective school but it is much more competitive for 8,9,10 as normally spots only open if a student in that year leaves (but a large number of spots often open for y11 entrance) and involves submission of like a portfolio which encompasses naplan results extracurriculars etc. Most of the time it also requires another external assessment like the edutest, and I know that some schools even require essays for entrance.

The best selective girl school depends on what you're looking for in a school, since obviously if its just pure academics then it would easily be Hornsby, North Sydney and Sydney girls anyways (there's not really that many female only selective schools anyways). But a side note the selective co-ed schools 50/50 gender split is probably something that should be taken into account.
