also (@barnyard) i did mention this once in a different thread but ill repeat it:
my school (especially the math faculty) are EXTREMEMLY picky, they can force someone to drop anytime they want
a girl in my ext class was forced to drop to STANDARD NOT ADVANCED bc she kept asking too many questions and the teacher gaslighted her into thinking she wasnt capable (in a way she would be like 'oh everyone can do this' 'why dont you go tutoring?' 'are you struggling with this? you shouldnt be struggling that much')
they made all of the 25 math ext 1 cohort drop to adv even std (we dont have a 25 ext 1 class except for 2 accelerated but they dont count anyways)

so yes, if i dont get into ext 2 the math facult will force me to drop to adv (im doing too well in adv to make me drop all the way down to std) it sounds harsh but it is was it is

so instead of having being humiliated and forced to drop to adv im already thinking of dropping to adv if i dont get into ext 2

Its not meant to be allowed But it is
deputy principals and principal is supportive
so they‘ll just keep pressuring you into dropping, give you LOTS of n awards and sometimes make you fail (like deducting marks for no reasons)
i havent been picked on lmaooo
but im picked on for english 💔 the head teacher reduced my 27/30 for AT1 to a 24/30 for no apparent reason
and since im in a different class im not allowed to contact him bc then ill be ‘unfair’ my only contact is my teacher and she said ‘idk why he changed your mark (she originally gave me a 27/30), i liked yours’

Hi all, I am currently in year 11 and considering picking up extension 2 math. I do very well in both adv and ext currently and I enjoy doing math. Just wondering how hard it is and the overall work load. Also would it be worth it to take 13 units into the HSC or should I consider dropping SOR I? let me know!
yeah its worth it. besides basically giving you max atar points for only getting 60-70% overall (i can't remember the number now), if you do anything that uses math in the future e.g. a lot of uni courses, you're going to have a easier time than coming into it with only an ext 1 background.

the workload can be a bit high though compared to ext1/adv, especially at the beginning of the subject. though if you enjoy the content, it's really no problem, and arguably it's just about the same as some of the science subjects. mainly the workload feels high at the start because it's much less plug and chug than ext1/adv, but if you put enough hours in it's not going to be an issue

Yes. You can always drop it if you change your mind
