for section 1 of english advanced, can anyone offer me some advice on how you manage your time writing short answers? because i always happen to have a problem with balancing time between reading the text (specifically the ones that are 1-2pages long ), planning out my resopnse and writing it.

basically im asking, does anyone have a plan or rule of thumb they use when managing time under exam conditions for during section 1 (short answers)

well imo depends on the marks of the qs, is it the 1-3 markers you struggle with or 4+ markers

its usually the 4+ markers (especially 6 markers) and the 'prose fiction extracts' (i meant extracts with a lot of words) because you need to read and interpret a lot of texts esp under timed conditions

U should get 10 min reading time at the start so I try to get thru as much as possible and usually u would spend double the amount of time for how many marks the question is.
So for a 4 marker u would spend 8 mins, etc. also if those 6 markers take u too long then maybe try spending less time on the questions with less marks so that u can give urself more time for the longer ones
