Hello everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I want to offer private tutoring for Mathematics Standard 2 (and hopefully Mathematics Advanced, Physics, and even Mathematics Extension 1/2). I am clueless on how the processes work. I know that these questions may seem silly, but any replies will be greatly appreciated.

1. What locations do private tutors usually go to to actually provide tutoring services? Is it at home, the library or some other places?
2. If this is done via companies, what companies should I join (apparently EzyMath is bad)?
3. What are some good prices? Should I just do $30/h or less (since I have very little experience, and I did not fully learn the 3 Unit Math course - missing statical analysis topics for example).

Thank you in advance!

probs rove ur credentials first, like ur hsc marks and internals etc for the respective subject. My private tutor proved their credentials by showing me their marks and track record of success with students for example. To tutor competitive subjects like phys, and ext math ur gonna face tough competition from tutoring centres and people who got really high in the course. But Good luck

Thank you! I am probably not in the best position for the more competitive subjects (also I don't trust myself in tutoring them yet anyways with them - probably in the near future I will be in a better position). So I will only start off with Mathematics Standard 2.

private tutors can be flexible and provide services in a variety of locations. it really depends on what each individual student is comfortable with, and what you’re most flexible with / what works for you best. for example, i prefer online tutoring because it’s more convenient in me not having to waste transport time, i can feel less shy communicating with my tutor, etc etc. since ur private it doesn’t really matter if u stick to just one method/location you can interchange between them (ie. one student online, one student at home, one student at the library)

doing it online can be good for you if you’re long distance from students, but can be challenging in terms of checking a students progress

physical locations - i think there was a thread made sometime early this year on study spots, maybe check that out to find the best quiet spots to tutor
