Yeah that's true too, there are so many sweaty musicians in music 2 so that also sorta scared me (especially bc half of the kids are pianists so COMPETITION)

I used to do ballet so I like ballet music bc I can sorta feel the movement in my bones ykyk, but I really like Don Quixote, La Bayadere and Paquita. Not everyone's thing though

I'll try to widen my taste too! Rite of spring sounds great

I'm thinking of doing Actuarial/Finance! Wbu? Lmaooo I remember when I tried composing jazz in yr 10 music elective by using dissonance and I got a C
OOF I'm lucky we didn't do jazz as one of our comp electives, we did comp for film music

Ballet is so cool! I never learnt how to dance, not a single coordinated bone in this body haha - will check out though!

and yeah piano is SOOOOOO competitive

I wanna do medicine!!
The reason I asked is cuz there's both a NSW doctors orchestra and a NSW lawyers orchestra, which is quite funny haha

My school doesn’t offer music 2 sadly. I feel like I would have been more likely to pick it if they did offer it
That's really unfortunate :( but understandable choice, music 1 just doesn't scale well enough for classical instruments

Ohhhh I didn't know that but that's hilarious, really channelling that Asian energy

I MIGHT do law, so perhaps one day... Are you planning on joining the doctors' orchestra?

I promise I'm not that much of a lingling haha

nah my subject actually kills me tho bc the program time is so shorttttttttttt
like wdym I have to cut down my concerto to 5 minutes
wdym my two pieces need to fit in 10 min GRR

I'll certainly listen to the Haydn haha!

I wasn't tryna brag guys promise
Haydn's surprise symphony...that was so year 9 haha

I would recommend Dvorak's Serenade in E major, or on the topic of violin, Mendelssohn's violin concerto in E minor allegro molto (twoset favourite)

I do love the surprise symphony for the memes

I will listen to dvorak's serenade! the mendelssohn I fear has entered my ears a few too many times for it to remain novel unfortunately

have you listened to the other "liebes" pieces? (salut d'amour is also known as liebesgross I think, so I like to imagine it as a companion to liebesfreud and liebesleid by kreisler)

YESS I'm afraid I'm a bit basic and haven't indulged in the first piano concerto as much as I should but the second is GLORIOUS

personally I've been listening to the grieg piano concerto a lot
