Hi guys, just got my task 1 results back and failed pretty miserably.

I sunk over 100 hours working and memorising my 1984 essay and only managed to get 13/20. I also failed in a few other subjects (bottom of the cohort in both math extension 1 and biology) because I spent time that could've gone there into english.

What is the play going into the summer holidays? Should I lock in for me1/bio or english or should I try salvage a band 5 in all of them?

figure out why you lost marks for your essay, was it your base essay itself that was lacking or was it how well you adapted to the q?

using your task 1 papers, you should consolidate everything you've learnt so far in mx1 and biology before it hurts you in the long run. do similar questions to ensure you never make the same mistakes again. also study the stuff that'll be in ur next tasks

whichever subject u lock in for depends on how much effort u would have to put into ur subjects to achieve the scores u want.
just try and achieve a balance so u spend more time on the subjects you know you need more hours to do well in.

I think I didn't adapt well, i guess the only way to fix that is by practicing more questions.

Also I haven't done all the past papers for me1 and bio so ig ill do that over the holidays

thanks :)

well i mean at least that means all those hours you put in weren't for nothing!! :) if it was just adapting, then im sure you managed to create and memorise some very substantial arguments.
don't push yourself too hard though, take lots of time to rest as well. gl!!
