My mum and I fight a lot and she always seems to bring up the line: "I'm always the villain in your eyes" and I genuinely have had enough. we argue over stupid shit sometimes (this was one of those time, and I'll admit, I was an asshole in this situation cause my mum asked me to do smth i thought was my dad's task) and because we both have tempers we start arguing and she keeps bringing up when I was more obedient and she keeps half wishing on my downfall and atp I'm wondering if I should use the "I'm always the villain in your eyes" line against my mum, because her response will solidify how she thinks of me, even if it's a heat of the moment thing.
I was going to give my advice... but given past experiences, i fear i won't help your case 😭 💔
I dunno i think you should gesture to it a bit? kinda speaking your mind. But if you want it to stick maybe try talking to her when she's calmed down? Or when you are both chill cause unnecessary things can be said in the heat of the moment on both sides.
maybe just ask her to hear you out? I dunno what your mum is like but normally if you just say- lemme talk please, and just listen- maybe she'll hear you out?

Do you have to tell your English teacher if you want to drop a subject?
I thought usually you talk in person or email (more likely) the deputy principal or your stage head teacher to request to drop a subject.

But either way, i think you shouldn't bear too much thought on what you teacher thinks even if you do end up telling them that's the reason why you want to drop. It's not like they are the one sitting the assessments and eventually HSC, right? I think before you said your school wasn't really supportive regarding wellbeing, but remember, what you are experiencing may not be perfectly understood by the teacher and you should do what you believe is good for you in the long term. (I hope that makes sense)
We have to get it signed by my teacher and the leader of that curriculum and then I have to get a thousand other signatures from the director of studies, my homeroom teacher, my year advisor, etc and then possibly my new teacher

Genuine question. Should I drop to standard English. Idk if I want to post this on a seperate thread, I might later. Honestly all I’m wanting is a 70-75 atar so scaling isn’t too much of a deal anymore.

On the last exam I got 50% and I got ranked in the bottom 30% and I don’t see my marks improving for the next assessment. I’m always thinking maybe if I lock in really hard I can improve but whenever I start improving I just end up flopping again. And even if I do pass this next assessment at most I’m gonna get 50% which isn’t that great.

And also my mental health has kinda been suffering from being in adv and I’ve just given up cause I actually can’t do this anymore. Maybe if I drop to standard my marks will be slightly better and at least I won’t get my self esteem destroyed daily but idk
To be honest, It's better to be good at a slightly more toned down version of a subject than suffer in a harsher environment. Like, I wanted to do advanced but I didn't because I knew it wasn't gonna end well, just with me stressing more and more. especially with the heavier subjects. If you wanna stay, I'd say go for it, it's your mental health after all.

But the thing is idk if it’s the right decision. Part of me wants to stay, part of me wants to leave. I think I might have to think about if for a bit but at the same time I kinda want to make the decision now so that I know whether or not to lock in or not. Cause if I want to drop then there’s no point in trying and if I want to stay then I should prob lock in is that I don’t screw my ranks up even more

That’s true but the only thing that’s holding me back is that I probably am capable of doing it if I try but it’s just my mental health that’s getting in the way. So idk what to do cause what if I regret my decision and realise that I really should have stayed and then what if still suffer under stress. Then staying adv would make no difference to being in std cause I would still be stressed. But idk it depends

is there a cutoff date??? Like for you dropping down??? if you can, maybe do one more assignment, see where that lands you and if it's too much, drop down. Because this is gonna count to your atar, and honestly, I'd just say fuck it and drop

I think it’s like sometime this month but I pretty sure I can drop after prelims if I want to
