for common mod and mod b essays are there any disadvantages to doing 2 paragraphs instead of 3 if you have the same amount of quotes across both formats? bc for prelims i did 2 paras and got the comment i needed more evidence but i used the same amount of evidence for my common mod at1 just across 3 paras and i got a 20/20 for that. most people are also doing 3 for our mod b exam. do markers normally have a preference?

I mean if u have enough evidence it should be fine but if ur teachers are saying 3 then probably do 3. It probably is best to do 3 cause that's what most people do but some people do 2 and still do good

@Jaros says their teacher has a preference. However i think all teachers have a preference, so do what ur skl tells you for in school... do what u want for hsc.

yeah the issue is my teachers haven’t said if they have a preference. also even between each class each teacher has a different opinion on what the paragraphs should be about and we don’t know who the markers are

ahh that suckks, i think if you have the time, go for 3 paras
i'm doing 1984 for commod and king henry for mod b

if u do 2 u run the risk of not getting that band 6, you are competing with people who are doing 3 and executing it very well through their use of structure (tripartite) and so on

Aim for 3, but remember- quality over quantity. Make sure your following a PETAL structure asw.

with the habits of hsc english students, 2 is much more likely to become a mess - 3 is safer
