What HSC subject do you think you would have enjoyed the LEAST had you been forced to take it?

Honestly this is a loaded question because I could NOT have imagined myself doing VA but it's not the worst subject

I agree with English Adv, but modern would've also killed me because I hated history in junior years

It seems like everyone hates eng adv but enjoys ext. I wonder if they made the adv course more like the ext course it would be more enjoyable. Even my teacher admitted to our class that she likes teaching ext more than adv

Geography - The new syllabus is so broad that I still have know idea the extent/depth of detail I need.
I envy anyone in HSC '26 who does geography - thou shalt not suffer as the guniea pigs of the new syllabus

If you did ext 2 eng, would that mean adv wouldn't count then if you slay both extensions? Because I think you only need your best 2 units of english to get HSC and an ATAR.

I wanna flip the question a lil and ask everyone what subject you wish you took/had the opportunity to take (if your school didn't offer it)

For me, it's either geo accel or chem

That's only if you do 12 units and all your other subjects are better than adv

I was in 3u accel originally but then I crashed out because my school combined 2u and 3u and our first topic was perms+combs and my 15yo self cried myself to sleep after every lesson for 8 weeks but then I dropped it but I couldn't keep 2u accel because it was combined. Also, I think my teacher probably cried because I was the only accel student . Anywho, I started the next year and thank goodness 2u and 3u weren't combined that time.

Lowkey - geo. The new syllabus does not specifically tell you what you should know and to what extents. But I've learnt to appreciate it and also the scaling on the high end is actually really good; A 95 in geo has a 99+ ATAR contribution (which is high, but then again it's not like it's 4u maths or anything). Additionally, there is so much content like damn I'm being cooked by geo content more than bio ffs.
