Hi,

I'm a big fan of the 'older' mathematics courses from Victoria and NSW from the 1970s and 1980s. Can anyone tell me what texts books were used
in the NSW mathematics courses in that era.

Can they be purchased now.

yes and no

Still Available

so in the 1980s the coroneos books that were used can still be purchased from https://www.coroneos.com.au

ext. 1:

ext. 2:

No longer available (with a caveat)

but there was also the Jones and Couchman for Extension 1 no longer available for purchase

And the big change at the beginning of the 1980s was Extension 2 changing from a 2 year course to a 1 year course

so before that there were for the old 2 year version of Extension 2

Lush, P.E. and Smith, R.C.T. (1969-70), Mathematics Form 5 and 6 Level 2F and Level 1, McGraw-Hill

Mulhall, H. and Smith-White, W.B. (1967-8), A New Mathematics For Senior Forms - Advanced Supplement Part 1 and 2, Angus and Robertson

Coroneos, J. and Lynch, J.A. (1966-7), Level I Supplement - A Higher School Certificate Course In Mathematics Form 5 and 6

it would remiss of me to omit another book available before 1966 called

Coroneos, J. and Moalem, D. (1963), A Leaving Certificate Mathematics I Honours Course - and this sources many of the questions in the exercises from past papers going right back to 1916!

a caveat is that the Coroneos level 1 Form 6 book actually is still available as a e-book, as are the Jones and Couchman books
