Hi all, if you've been replying to my posts you can probably tell that I'm quite anxious about my marks.
I'm currently doing 12 Units right now and they're Econ, EngAdv, 4U math, Chem and Bio.
I just got my math and econ results today and I've been debating on which subject, MathExt2 or Economics for about a year, but I was leaning towards dropping Economics however wasn't able to since my school doesn't allow me to have 10 units or less. I have unfortunately gotten only 60% for Economics, 93% for Math Adv, shockingly 75% for Math Ext1 and 60% for MathExt 2. It's honestly really worrying me that this is going towards my ATAR and I'm wondering if I can even get 90 ATAR at this point.
Any help is appreciated at this point, I'm feeling pretty down ☹

what are your ranks for each subject currently? maybe that will give a better idea on what to drop.
and also, which subject do you enjoy doing the most?

I'm not sure about the ranking since my school does not allow us to see them now but I am around the top 20% of the cohort (20 out of 110 or 100) for Math Advanced. I got around 20/100 last year with an overall mark of 97 which is what I will also be expecting this year as well if I continue. For MathExt. 1 , I am probably currently at 35-40/80 since I am only a little bit above average however last year I was 30/88 with raw marks of 87, 88, and 70. For Math Ext.2 I think I have only 10 people behind me which puts me at a ranking of 30-33/42 unfortunately. If it helps I go to a top 10 school and cohort seems quite strong in Mathematics this year.
For Economics I think I am simply cooked. Definitely at the bottom 25% as well however I heard that my school is very strong in Economics.

welll since you go to a high ranking school i think being even just in the top half of the cohort puts you in a really good position already, despite the marks (i assume your school makes the papers rather difficult, which makes marks kind of a poor deciding factor for what to drop)
from a purely quantitative standpoint, you should drop eco. but maybe just check your economics B6's on hscninja and see if you're in the range for a B6 despite your ranking.

however, what you can see yourself grinding and putting the hours in for in the future should matter more than whatever marks you may be getting, esp since your school is so highly ranked 😊

Thank you for the encouraging advice. I am definitely willing to work harder for Ext2 than Economics. I really hope I can get around full marks for Ext. 1 in the upcoming assessments since I only had troubles with time management :)
Also, how would I check if I'm in the range for a B6? Sorry I'm kinda confused since I thought you would enter your aligned marks in the hscninja atar calculation and since I don't know my aligned mark I'm not sure if I can know.

hsc ninja has data on all the band 6's in your school in the honour roll section:

from here you can get a general idea of the number of band 6's your school gets in each subject 😁

Ohh I see that's what you meant. Although Math Ext 2 has a lower cohort size they seem to get slightly more band 6's than Economics! Well then I'll definitely be trying to improve my internal rankings up to top 10 even if it may be unreachable 🫠. Thanks for the information
