The japanese versions are really nice looking, I like how they remix the calculator. But for some reason, some of their models have a different menu? What's up with that?i find the blue shift functions are not a good colour, at least not on black plastic
there is a japanese version, the fx-JP900CW which has gold, not blue

it's a much better colour contrast
i worked it outthe main issue with the japanese one is the language.
if u know japanese then fine, but there is a way to convert it to english. i forgot how to do it.
maybe later i rediscover and post the steps to do this
