String instruments aren't my forte but i'll give it a try <3

i know what arco, sul pont is soo i'm guessing thats notation for a string instrument... is that the bowing direction? (i'm not sure how string notation really works)

or is it a weird glissando marking? so playing like a swish down the notes/scale then playing the note written after?

actually it would make sense that it was that. As the sul pont means to play close to/over the bridge... providing a raspy sound and doing the weird glissando seems plausible and a stylistic effect of it.... but i'll double check with my music teach!

okay I've been doing a little googling and trying to find something like that and I can't find anything unfortunately

from what I know that's a bit of a weird place to put a glissando - I can't see any examples of similar glissandi markings online - it would make sense but the fact its on the beam makes me feel like it's some weird duration thing? I was immediately reminded of an acciaccatura but it's not that, so...
I also wonder if it's perhaps some odd tremolo notation? because I've definitely seen some strange ones

I actually feel like I've seen this somewhere before but I cannot for the life of me place it

which string quartet is this? does it maybe have a key/legend of some sort? or perhaps a recording?

I attempted to listen to it and it wouldn't happen to be the bit at the beginning of anger, would it? if it is, then my best guess is that it's some weird version of feathered beaming

because it seems to start fast and slowly slow down as it repeats
so it means like semiquaver to quaver maybe??

tell me if I found the right part haha
