Yes, I find 3u to be more 'chillax' than adv, since the syllabus is smaller. It's still hard but if you do adv + ext 1, you have the safety net of it only being 1 unit, which can help with stress. But if you didn't do adv, it would be quite hard. Some topics, such as projectile motion are just sometimes really hard, but there are other topics which most of the time get tested like clockwork and are pretty 'textbook' like. Question 13-14 (The equivalent to the last 8-10 questions in standard or advanved) start to become more difficult and can use some pretty obscure properties and ideas, but definately not impossible. It sort of feels like an additional 2 periods of adv at times.ive heard so many ppl find ext1 easier than adv tho (someone confirm)
Certain public schools gatekeep MX2 and MX1 on their own accord for ego and band 6 rate.no bruh they try to make mx1 and mx2 limited to smart rich students, its a hoax thats why those top private schools get 2000 band 6's every year
they dont want ppl with standard subjects getting a 99+ atar
Well yeah, they cant let anyone do high level math courses you can't have bad foundational ability and expect to cope in mx1 and mx2, there is a reason for the 'gatekeep' these are just requirements to enter the course that's it.Certain public schools gatekeep MX2 and MX1 on their own accord for ego and band 6 rate.
But if everyone could do MX2 and MX1 if they wanted, MX2 and MX1 would scale worse.
Scaling of a subject is directly based on cohort quality.
ur argument breaks down the moment u consider aussie universities. anyone can get in and anyone can take the highest level of math.Well yeah, they cant let anyone do high level math courses you can't have bad foundational ability and expect to cope in mx1 and mx2, there is a reason for the 'gatekeep' these are just requirements to enter the course that's it.
University is for tertiary education which is related to passion and career related. School is for ATAR, and there is only so much teachers can do with students who cannot build on their yr 10 skills. Where as in university, its more independent I think the restrictions are so high school the teachers don't suffer because they are responsible for the student's learning. This is why I think there are restrictions for mx1 and mx2 courses.ur argument breaks down the moment u consider aussie universities. anyone can get in and anyone can take the highest level of math.

Actually it's a raw mark of 70 for a band 6.What I don't agree with Ext2 marking is that the raw mark average of 50-60 is upscaled to nearly 90 so that 48% rewarded above 90 mark. If they want to get this result maybe they should change the exam level .
