Is memorising essays for english or any other essay subject any good? For english i usually remember quotes and analysis write an essay get feedback and produce one on the spot.

depends. personally i always go in with a memorised essay because i simply cannot just generate an essay on the spot. if you have that skill, though, go for it! esp if you aren't as strong in memorisation
