Does you school gatekeep HSC subjects? (1 Viewer)

For example, does your school force you to do standard, even though you really want to do advanced? or does your school force you to do extension 1 and advanced and 1 other shitty unit instead of just doing extension 2 and extension 1 despite having enough space?
If your school does this, your school is absolutely shit and its best to leave, no offense, apparently Penrith Selective High School does this.

HSC subjects aren't fucking remotely close to uni level so I don't know why they would gatekeep them in the first place, your school is fucking shit and retarded if it does this and I hope everyone there fails

Unrelated but if a school forces you to attend everyday unless you provide proof, they can also go fuck themselves.

I think NESA should make it a law that schools cannot gatekep a subject unless the spots are full, and the spots can only be full if there are no teachers for more classes

at my school they made everyone in my year do english advanced because not enough people picked standard to have it be worth it to make a class
i was considering standard but im lowk glad they made me do adv bc i realised it's basically the same subject but with better scaling (idc abt shakespeare or doing a comparative bc it's the same amount of essays anyway)

same, there are recommendations but ultimately it's your choice, the only thing is if there isn't enough people to do a course
