i think there is enough music out there that is either depressing or optimistic to the point you choke- to go on about quasi-nihilism is more irrelevant knowing they picked an optismitic song and choose to perform it in a certain way as to prove a response- if you dont like it then dont listen to apc or tool because they are bands that aim to show the menacing/darker art in all of us and the world.
god i hate 2unit maths fuck it- im gonna listen to some stinkfist
and another thing the purpose i guess to imagine the way i percieve it is that its a song about changing the world- lennon realised that in the world he lived in you couldnt be rid of bounderies, religion, possessions, war etc... it is impossible to change the world that significantly- only through our imagination can you do so enabling people to feel fulfilled about ourselves and the world with its many problems.
destruction is a form of creation- yet it cant work in every situation, otherwise you are a monster for destroying what other people percieve is good.
apc have bypassed in a sense the whole dreaming/hope side to imagine...the song isnt meant to make you feel good about the world we live in at all
you shouldnt always focus on how you feel when thinking about covers- they were written in a different context to ours. and even though people constantly go on about the iraq war and the whole anti bush thing it shouldnt change the fact that while we are happy here secure and safe- another country is being invaded and people dying to defend their way of life and beliefs
