Can teachers stop me from dropping a subject? (3 Viewers)

I want to drop english extension 1 so bad... but both the subject coordinator and my extension teacher told me (very firmly) that I musn't, even tho english is my 2nd worst subject and I did poorly on the assessment task

I didn't really try to argue with them (I'm too shy), but can they really prevent me from dropping it? I need both of their signatures but I don't think they'll be willing to sign

What can I do???

Do you know why they don't want u to drop? Maybe if their reason is a good reason then maybe it's good to keep it but if not then idk why they're stopping u from dropping it. There has to be a reason

My english extension teacher said it'd benefit my 2u english, but I feel like its only made my other grades so much worse, since I spend a disproportionate amount of time on extension :I

Did u do better in other subjects. If ur rankin ext eng is the worst out of all ur subjects then maybe it is a good idea to drop. But also why do u want to drop?

ya I did better in my other subjects. English and maths are my worst

I want to drop cus I hate everything about it The content, the texts, the essays, the readings, the quotes, the IRP... everything just sucks. Also the workload is way too much for me, especially cus I'm super lazy and procrastinate a lot

personally i'd recommend dropping it, especially since you really don't have the passion or motivation to do it, so you can have less workload and put more effort into other subjects. i didn't do an extension class but i did have maths advanced which i absolutely HATED and dropped down to standard 2 which most likely saved my atar and my sanity.

what other subjects are you doing?

I do 2u english, 2u maths, economics, legal, business, and music 2, but I'll probably drop economics which is my only elective that scales well :I
