Hey guys, I go to a gateway school and I am really ambitious but lacked discipline for most if not all of my seniour school life,I do english adv, business, (did) physics, maths adv, maths ext and pdhpe and my final year 11 marks for all of these were c's or d's, then semester 1 report for year 12 was also filled with entirely d's, in the past month I've nailed down and and worked on my habits and the past few tests I have been acing so i know i can acheive great semester 2/prelims marks so in the rounds of offers are there any offer rounds that fall in time to look at the prelim reports, (hella ambitious but wanna do double law)(Ik personal statement means a lot but apart from that)

It's late, but it's great that you're working on your habits and fixing them now. Since Round 1 focuses on your year 11 marks, I don't think your application would get accepted, considering your grades and wanting double law + applications close before trials start. It wouldn't hurt to try though. But if you continue improving your habits and your marks, you should be able to get in through Round 2. The most impressive part of looking at grades is improvement. As long as you keep up with that and work on writing and refining your personal statement, you should be good. But obviously don't rely on gateway and work on getting good marks in your trial and hsc, especially bc you won't know about your offer until after hsc exams are over.

Make sure that you don't fall back into those habits. I had pretty bad study habits in years 8-10 and had to really lock in for senior. If you can, join or form study groups with friends/classmates that can hold you accountable, either in person or online (with cams on OR screensharing). Don't just rely on the results and feedback from tests, write responses for your teachers and ask them if it's better than previous responses, It's how you build a relationship with your teachers that makes them want to check in on you and your improvement. If, for some reason, you have a stingy teacher, ask your friends/classmates if they have time to peer mark it. I'm assuming you're also in the gateway program?? log in to it and check it out bc they have masterclasses for english, business, and maths that might help you. Hope this helped a bit lol. Good luck, work hard, and don't burn yourself out!
